Footscray Learning Precinct - A national first in integrating learning at all levels

We are pleased to announce that our education team will partner once again with Hayball on the development of the Footscray Learning Precinct project.

The Project – A long term vision for world-class integrated learning in Melbourne’s Inner West

The last twenty years have seen a baby boom in Melbourne’s inner west, and experts predict that this population growth is set to continue over the coming decades.

To support the educational needs of the growing community, the government has announced plans to develop multiple world-class educational facilities across Footscray, spanning from early years education through to K-12, tertiary and adult education.

The plan for the development of Footscray Learning Precinct is ambitious and the vision is long term. The Government’s plans are a national first in integrating learning at all levels and the project will focus on marrying the creation of innovative learning environments with the latest teaching practices.

$15 m has been committed for the first stage of the project, with the masterplanning phase currently underway.

Our Role – Creating spaces in which everyone has a voice

The importance of good acoustics in educational environments cannot be overstated. We are excited to be partnering with Hayball right at the very outset of this project. Our early involvement will ensure that the acoustic design informs the architectural planning and design seamlessly; creating spaces that support teacher pedagogies and learners at every level.

Related Projects

We are also currently working alongside Hayball and other industry partners on the ARC funded Innovative Learning Environments and Teacher Change project. The project aims to produce strategies that will enable teachers to make the most effective use of the latest generation of learning environments. Full ILETC project details.
